15+ Antique "The Magic City, Portfolio of Original Photographic Views of the Great World's Fair". Chicago 1894 Large Lot

Poor condition, this set of large pamphlets is from the World's Fairs in Chicago in 1894. All original, not duplicates, they originally were published in a leather cover, but that was lost. All are softcover and most content is still stapled, all covers are loose. The interior pages are high quality glossy but the covers were cheap newsprint and are fragile. Tears and and a stamp on the front of each one.

This is the historical fine art series. Large and Heavy. 11' x 14". Missing volumes 12, 14 and 17, there is one set that does not have a cover and a random similar looking publication for touring Alaska that is not a part of this series.

Hundreds of sepia toned photographic images of the Chicago World's Fair; architecture, artworks, people, and its treasures, including a vivid representation of the famous Midway Plaisance.

FYI: This is the world's fair that was troubled with the serial killer H.H. Holmes. https://www.crimemuseum.org/crime-library/serial-killers/hh-holmes/ He was also the subject of the book titled, "The Devil in White City".

Stored in plastic in a non smoking home, this has no lingering odors.
