Antique Book "Sir Uvedale Price on the Picturesque" by Lauder 1843 Inscribed by Notable Landscape Architects Gillette, Manning & Palmer

This is a wonderful old book. The condition is fair to poor and in need of restoration. This is a rare book. The wonderful things about this book are the inscriptions. My father, M. Meade Palmer, was given this book by Charles F. Gillette, his mentor and Charles Gillette was given the book by Warren H. Manning.

Gillette and Manning are icons of American Landscape Architecture. My father was a notable landscape architect in his own right, designing the memorial to Lyndon Johnson and other high profile projects.

This book has very brown pages. Care should be used when reading. The first few pages and the inscription pages are fragile, the remaining pages are tanned but good.

The hinge is broken at the cover page and a strip of archival tape has been used to hold it on. The spine is seriously worn. The sewn interior hinge is intact with no loose pages other than the first few that I mentioned.
