Antique Book "Soldiers Three" by R. Kipling VG Condition Unusual Binding Beautiful Spine Gilding Deckle Edge

Near Mint condition antique book, this book has green cloth on the boards and gilded on the top, machine cut (smooth) pages. The remaining pages are deckle cut (rough cut) and not gilded.

Slight shelf wear to the edges of the top and bottom spine. Gilding looks excellent and there is some dirt on the cover. The interior is good condition with no marks, no folds, and the pages are barely beige, as appropriate for it
s age. The book has never been read.

A collection of short stories about the adventures of privates Terence Mulvaney, Stanley Ortheris, and John Learoyd, three soldiers who appear in other writings by Kipling. With their humor and directness, they portray a side of the British in Afghanistan in the waning British Empire years that is not often seen.
