Finest possible example. This baby bottle was made by Whitall Tatum Glass Co. of New Jersey in the 1880s. This is BIM bottle, hand blown into the mold.
Originally, it would have had a little rubber tube with a nipple attached to the end for the baby to suck the milk from the bottle. The advantage to this kind of nursing bottle would be the convenience of bottle not having to be held and more flexibility for the baby to feed in any position.
