This is in excellent condition with light age and use related scuffs. No dings, dents or black tarnish.

This stunning bowl weighs 444g. The engraving is complete with winner and pony's name. The engraving is in a beautiful Edwardian script. This was made during the art nouveau period. 9" wide and 3" deep.

The maker is J.E. Caldwell & Co. Pattern number 4000, stamped sterling with hallmark for Caldwell.

About Caldwell: "For most of its existence the firm acted as major jewelry and silver retailer in Philadelphia selling items made by main American makers or acting as agent for goods made up for special order. In addition the firm has planned and designed many other public memorials and prize cups for important Meet and Show held in or near Philadelphia.
They exhibited at the Centennial International Exhibition of 1876 in Philadelphia which was the first official World's Fair to be held in the United States. Sadly, the flagship store closed in 2003 followed by the remaining branches in 2009."
